I have read that when finishing step 4b of Petrus, some people orient the LL corners while inserting the last CE pair. Is this simply learning OCLL algorithms (for all four rotations of U slice) that begin with a R slice for the first turn or something more complex? I may not have explained that well, I'll reiterate if need be. How useful is a trick like this because I have also read that it may save you only 1 move at most. Also, does anyone think it is possible to intuitively orient the last layer corners while solving the last CE pair?

Thanks!

Being able to create a cross while finishing F2L would be pretty handy. It depends on how many algorithms you want to memorise though. If you remember most of them then you can probably just do 1LLL *shrug*

TimMc: Cross, you mean EP? Zbigniew Zborowski is good at that, and knows all the LL-algs needed for 1-look.

I find it very useful. It saves several moves.

I'm not going to say impossible, but at least for me it's very difficult. I just used ACube to find solutions.

Here are some of the algs I use (do the inverse to see what they do). Start with the shortest ones if you want to learn to do this. With just a few algs you can at least get a Sune most of the time, which is quite cool.

R U' R' and R U2 R'

L' U2 R U* R' U2 L (there are 3 versions of this, the U* can be U, U' or U2)

R' F R U R U' R' F'
L U' R U L' U R'
R2 U' L' U R' U' R' L

R U R' U' R U' R'

R' U' R2 U' R2 U2 R

L' U R U' L R'

R2 D R' U' R D' R2
R' U R' U' D R' U R D' R

R' D' R U2 R' D R2 U' R'

R U L' U R' U' L

R' F R' B' R' B R' F'

R' F' R U2 R U2 R' F

F' R U2 R' U2 R' F R

L' U R U' L U2 R'

R' U L U' R2 U L' U R'

R U' R D R' U' R D' R2

Joey, if you think 27 cases are many then look at this:

I know:

All PLL
All OLL (at least I did a while ago but does not use it so some may be lost)
All CLL/COLL
All ELL
All VHF2L
At least 100 ZBF2L
Nearly 100 ZBLL (not including COLL and PLL)
Some 150 CLL+ orient LL edges

And that's only for the 3x3x3, add to that my special algs for 4x4x4 and 5x5x5, Pyraminx, Sqare-1 and so on...

Must be more than 500 cases totaly :P

So, if you need an alg, just ask me, I probably know one :)

Wow, very nice list Johannes. Haven't gone through them all yet, but I especially liked L' U2 R U* R' U2 L and R2 D R' U' R D' R2. Easy to remember, easy to see, and use very fluid movements. 27 cases isn't as bad as I was expecting either. Thanks.
