Whats the best color for a DIY cube?

I know that white makes it turn smoother than black because white is made out of smoother plastic.

Other people say the opposite. Also, people like to use green.

The color doesn't matter, really.

Even if the white plastic were smoother, the difference it would make in your times is negligible.

Once again, its preference. Some people can manage better with rougher plastic. For example, someone who overshoots on a white a lot may want a rougher cube so that they don't overshoot. There's no such thing as the best color, just like the best cube doesn't exist (really bad ones do though).
And something I hate saying because its lame: some WR used black. But don't get black just because the "pros" use it.

Definitely get white. I think that you should stick with classic colors (black and white)

ive heard that the main difference between colours is the recognition. personally i have amazing recognition on black compared to white so i use black.

Hmm.. what do you mean by overshooting? I want a really fast and flexible cube. And the does white plastic make a difference from black plastic in speed? I don't care if it is loud.
So it's either black or white.

Seriously, if you're that undecided just get a couple of different types and colors and try them. It's all personal preference anyway.

I mostly have black cubes simply for clarity.

My white cube is pretty cool though, and I also have a pink cube with pastel tiles for the ultimate 80s retro feel

I only have black cubes with three exceptions: 1 3x3, 1 6x6 and 1 7x7.
the 3x3 is really really good!!! and I don't mind using it from time to time.

and: believe it or not, one of the best cubes I've ever seen in my whole life was a pink type d which I got for a friend of mine (a girl )
