Alright, I've always loved puzzles. I learned the Rubik's cube at the age of 8. VERY basic method. I then moved on to F2L when i saw how popular cubing is (i'm 13 now) and my record with F2L and 4Look OLL/PLL is 34sec. I've only learned that 2 months ago.
I was just wondering if I should learn PLL or OLL next because I don't have a lot of time to devote to both yet. I was just wonderng which has not necessarily easy to remember algs, but ones that flow better. and would cut down times.
leaves pros/cons if you can,
thanks!

PLL - Just for redundancy and repetition

im not a fridrich user and never hope to be,, but i heard that most PLLs are just 2 OLLs after another,, is that true?

I would say some, not most. I don't know full OLL, but I know T perm and Y perm are. The R-Perm I use is not, but I actually figured out my own R-Perm that I don't use by putting two OLLs together, if you're interested, here is the Alg:

R U2 R2 F R F' R U2 R' U F R' F' R U R U' R'

but it does take apart the F2L, put it together agian (just like an OLL) and then do it again right?

that r-perm is nice looking, i must memorize it now.
along with the rest of pll.
_dies.

I don't think its that hard to switch to other methods. I use Fridrich but I can get sub-20 solves(Not averages) using Petrus and Roux and sub-20 average with ZZ(Although its kinda basically pre-orientated Fridrich).

Back to the original question, PLL first. Learn them at a steady pace. Not too fast not too slow.

when i learned fridrich i completely skipped learning the 2-look PLL. i learned 2-look OLL and the PLL.

I don't understand. 2 Look OLL is 10 algs. Full PLL is 21 algs. Are you saying you learned all 31 algs before ever solving the last layer in any solve, ever?

Brian.

I think he means that he didn't learn 2-look PLL and went straight to full PLL.

^ So you think he sat down and learned all 21 PLLs before ever finishing a last layer? I don't buy it unless his brain is so big he has a kick stand for it that opens out onto his shoulder to support it's enormous mass.

Brian.

No, he learned beginner LL.

Instead of learning 2-Look PLL next, he instead learned full PLL.

I don't know if this is true, but that's what I thought of when I read that.
