So I teach middle school students, and I have been teaching some kids how to solve the 3x3x3 after school on Friday's for three weeks now. I have four students who can solve it with LBL without any notes, and another two students are nearly there.
My school is having a gathering in four weeks on a Friday from 4:00-6:00pm during which students can stay after classes to play Guitar Hero, DDR, and Karaoke Revolution, compete in a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, decorate their own cupcakes, get their faces painted, etc. So, I insisted on having a 3x3x3 competition. I'll be the official scrambler, and the winner will receive the Rubik's Cube cake from PimpThatSnack.com. Another teacher's sister is going to make it.
Good times!
Update: My LBL average is down to 58 seconds, though I am trying to get Fridrich F2L to become intuitive. Like you all care. It's like bragging that you wrote a program in BASIC that adds two inputted numbers together to a computer engineer.
