This looks like a possibly-more-featured but less convenient version of TimeBase. TimeBase integrates into displays and thus isn't an addtional piece of hardware laying around with more cords where this is another piece of kit to sit on a solving station. I'm intrigued but don't love the current implementation as a result.

How would this account for +4, +6, +8 ect? Long press for DNF a series of short presses for +2, +4 ect. Seems like DNF and +2 should be seperate buttons.
There's a screen on the device. Presumably the penalty gets displayed on there and you just click through until you get the one you want.

But, yes, +2 and DNF should be different buttons.

FKM just sounds like TimeBase repackaged for me

Yeah, it looks like it does the same things that TimeBase does, but I would think the cost of FKMTime is a good bit less than the cost of TimeBase, since it doesn't have that big display. There are already so many displays in use, why spend extra money to replace them, if you can just add something inline for half the cost.

So you don't have another piece of hardware and accompanying cords sitting on the solve station getting in the way.
