I doubt any of them would have found the same solution Teodor did. In Dylan Miller’s breakdown of the solve, he goes over several excellent alternative paths that he and other top cubers might have chosen, none of which lead to an LL as easy as the one Teodor got. Maybe those cubers could turn faster than Teodor, but unless they found a sub-40 move solution that allowed them to sustain 14+ TPS, I don’t think they would have been faster.Just think, if Max Park, Xuanyi Geng, Tymon Kolisinski, or Yiheng Wang got that scramble, it would be even faster.
There’s no question that those cubers are world-class, and in many cases more accomplished, but Teodor is not far behind. He has already been pacing ahead of Tymon at times and even winning competitions against him. He also has plenty of room to improve as he gets older. What really stands out here is that Teodor spotted a very clever solution that, in hindsight, looks simple, but was far from obvious at the time. On top of that, he executed it extremely well despite difficult finger tricks and awkward transitions, as Dylan highlighted in his video.
So no, I don’t think they necessarily would have found something better on this scramble. And even if only one top cuber received a scramble like this, that is part of speedcubing. A lucky scramble is still valid. If you recognise the opportunity and execute under pressure, you deserve the record. Other top cubers will get their chances too, whether the scramble is as favourable or not. At that point, it always comes down to execution under pressure, and that is never guaranteed.
