How much passive income is Jperm making without making any videos lol?
i told you he posted enough videos to give him monthly interest lol

From the information on this website, I'd say that J Perm is making probably around 100k each year from his YouTube (if you just take a rough median from what it says at 13k-203k ig but again, this could be a wildly different number to the true amount that he earns). This is an absurd example of how much you can earn from YouTube, even if you aren't uploading anymore, when you're one of the most well-known, widespread creators in a certain area like cubing.

Yea cant trust socialblade on the income part, its way off, since it doesnt count shorts making less money, or how much the youtuber actually makes from 1k views, like take my channel for example, I almost have 200 subs and it thinks I make at least 2$ a year, even tho I need 1k subs to make money lol
Im saying that you should more think that its on the lower half, like 20k-40k, even tho that also seems very high (ofc he maybe makes 200k but we dont know💀)

Social blade is very inaccurate from what other youtubers have said. A lot of channels with over a million subs that upload regularly still have to rely on patreon or donations to keep going.

I think YouTube should just stop giving money once the uploading of new videos stop.

They mostly care about the engagement, if people are still watching, sharing, and commenting. Also: lack of new videos doesn't negate the value of the existing ones. I'm trying to get better at 4x4, guess where I turned?

I don't know what to say - I guess it doesn't really matter what happens if he doesn't care about the channel anymore, but there's just something about J Perm's videos that makes me like them far more than any other youtuber (even if they are super old or not about a topic that I particularly enjoy). Every time I watch a J Perm video I just feel so much more motivated to practise and get better and in general just enjoy cubing.

I certainly don't think people are glazing him, as he became far less active since late 2022 (his last comp), and he still accumulated this ridiculous number of subs (the most out of any cubing channel to my knowledge) without posting a single video in nearly 2 years 💀
i agree with this

just a lil question, did y'all learn to solve your 1st 3x3 from his vid or another one (like cubehead)?

I learned how to solve from memyselfandpi (yes that dates me to literally 2013 💀)
I really enjoyed his cubing skits and I still don't think anyone has filled his place in the youcubing world.

I guess what annoyed me is that he kinda just abandoned the channel without a proper goodbye or any kind of notice. I mean he did come back to make that Yiheng video so did he actually quit?

Also he's not even close to the most subs. SoupTimmy has an English AND Spanish channel with like 6M subs each. And I don't even think he speaks Spanish it's just dubbed.

I learnt it from a website that’s no longer up that went through the Rubik’s Brand solution (different from Jperm’s method). Getting to 1.9M is an amazing accomplishment, and I can’t deny how big of a positive impact he’s made on the cubing community, even though I personally don’t like his videos (the way he explains stuff just doesn’t click for me at all).

All of the channels above Jperm are shorts channels, so it's definitely not the same.

what is your definition of shorts channel? Did you know J perm got millions of views from shorts too?
Yea but he only made 10 shorts, while the other creators only make shorts and long form from time to time
Its WAY easier to grow with shorts so you cant categorize it the same with people that spend time making long form (im not saying that shorts creators dont put efort, just less than long form)

Seriously, you're suggesting that Jperm is a shorts channel? I don't even want to waste any time to counter this, man. It's just common sense.
