a rubik’s cube doesn’t need math

it needs

pattern recognition (oh wait that’s actually still math)
I’m not smart enough but online it says it uses group theory and a branch of abstract algebra in Rubik’s cube theory

someone on reddit: Having experience in cubing definitely helped me when I was studying Group Theory. Subgroups, quotient groups, group actions, conjugates and the like were all familiar concepts to me.

Also there’s a Wikipedia page about cube theory I think idk

This is something I’m actually suspicious about, why do people record 10 feet away from tables where people are in the way of recording when they can just record solves from the table?
because
1. sometimes it’s nice to see the timer display
2. you get to see their full reaction together with the other people’s reactions (like the judge)
3. it looks cool
4. you can still tell if someone is sliding from 10 feet away
