The world's oldest speed cuber ever

Nuh uh, it was dead
just because a thread is “dead” doesn’t mean you can’t add information
also please try to read and understand what i said here:
“it’s ok because it’s relevant and adds valuable information to the topic of the thread”
you replied with “Nuh uh, it was dead” which means you think it doesn’t add any valuable information/relevance to the thread

Nobody was looking at it, and I don't even know how far you had to scroll to find this.
so which is better? Bump a 12 year old topic (older than xuanyi💀) or create a new thread when there’s already this existing 12 year old thread?

This is a pretty big bump, but I think it’s reasonable. Today at the competition i was at, 95 year old Frank Zieminski competed, and broke not one, not two, BUT THREE 90+ year old cuber world records! Everybody loved frank and I got to speak with him a little bit, and he’s an awesome guy, and this is amazing, I wonder if he will ever compete again/ how long it will take until these are broken!
Is he older than https://www.worldcubeassociation.org/persons/2011MICH01 Egon Micheelsen who is listed as 90+ in the senior ranking.

Btw, my grandfather-in-law also attended a WCA competition today and he is 88 years young!

woah

I should teach my grandfather to learn how to solve a cube
My grandfather has a widescape notebook with all the cases drawn using sketch pens. He is too conscious of doing the last layer without looking at the notebook. It is tough to convince him to trust his muscle memory and get more familiar with the solving process.

He had a wonderful time. He got introduced to the megaminx for the first time and one of the cuber was kind enough to explain the puzzle to him at a slow pace.

Can't wait to take my grandpa to the next comp!! 😁

No, I meant that nobody was posting in it. I think it's a fun topic, but a 13 year bump is a bit much.
Clearly other people disagree. I disagree. This is what makes Forums much better than reddit. History, and reminders of past experiences. I really liked this bump, and hope there will be many more like it in the future.

Looks nice! I'm not there yet :).

According to the post by Stefan Pochmann who at least then had (total) access to
the DB, he was 93 years old at 2013 and 90 at the competition.
So older in birth / age yes but not at the competition (according to OtaMota or the link)
Zieminski is 94 today (or a month ago)

That 2x2 average should make him the first 90+ competitor with Kinch points (for known seniors in the Senior Rankings DB)
