What are your 2026 cubing resolutions

Here’s mine I guess:
3x3: Get better at planning cross+1, learn better f2l solutions, learn full OLL and finish PLL, I’d like to average sub-15
2x2: Get better at predicting OLL (and sometimes PLL), eventually learn CLL, average sub-4
4x4: Get better at planning F2C, better at doing cross edges and centers, forcing top cross solved, predict OLL before parity, do PLL parity at optimal angles and predict the PLL, average sub-1
5x5: Get better with all the Yau steps, average sub-2 maybe?
6x6: Learn Yau, average sub-5 maybe?
7x7: Learn Yau, average sub-8 maybe?
3BLD: Have faster, more efficient, and concrete memo, better images to remember, learn Orozco maybe? average sub-2
FMC: Get better at blockbuilding and being more efficient, average sub-35
OH: Learn better finger tricks and maybe some OH OLL and PLL, average sub-25
Clock: Start using pinky for D moves, just get faster exec using Davian’s 7sf variant, average sub-7
Mega: Get better at finding cross pieces and F2L pairs, better lookahead overall, learn 4LLL, average sub-1:50
Pyra: Get better at making Vs, using better finger tricks, learn L4E algs, average sub-4
Skewb: Better layer solutions, learn Sarah’s Advanced, average sub-4
Sq-1: learn CP and EP algs, be more efficient with OBL, maybe learn CSP? average sub-20
4BLD: Just do more attempts and average sub-15
5BLD: Do attempts, average sub-30 maybe?
MBLD: I only have 3 cubes available but maybe eventually I can attempt 10+

Some of these are very ambitious, idk we’ll see how it goes

2x2: get better because i suck
3x3: get better because i am terrible at everything
4x4: i dont care
5x5: get a new cube
6x6 and 7x7: get one
oh: sub 20 global
clock: go to more comps and have less nerves and get better because im ass at this event
mega: sub 1 global
pyra: i dont care
skewb: i dont care
squan: get better
care more about the comp rather than the experience

2x2: Finish CLL
3x3: <7 single
6x6: <3:00 single
7x7 Global <6:00
Megaminx Global <1:45
3BLD Success
Skewb NR Avg+global <2, <0.8 single, Ao5<WR, Ao12<1.7
Skewb BLD <3 single, <6 Mo3 and <7 Ao5

My Cubing Goals for 2026
I currently own all WCA puzzles except for a square-1, so I will make goals for all the WCA events that I own.
2x2: Not a lot - mainly focusing on other cubes, but it would be nice to learn CLL because I've already learnt and forgotten half of it twice now 0_0. Once I learn that, I would aim for sub-3.5
3x3:
Realistically sub-12, but I want to aim a little higher for that sub-10 (at home), and a 10-11 second average in comp this year (again, it just depends how my nerves are and also whether I end up focusing on other things as well or not)
4x4: It would be awesome to average sub-40 by the end of the year, but realistically I think around 40-42 will be what I'll end up at. A sub-40 single in comp would be cool though
5x5: Sub-1:20 would be a really nice goal for 5x5 this year, my PB single is 1:29.9 right now but I think if I started practising it properly again, I could definitely get at least a sub 1:30 average in comp this year.
6x6: I don't really know what to expect in terms of progression (because I might practise it more or less than what I initially expect and because I'm still pretty trash right now and the learning curve would be very nice and steep), but easily sub-3:00 by the end of the year, especially once my 6x6 is broken in properly through practise, and if I decide to practise a lot maybe sub-2:45 or something like that.
7x7: Again, just guessing, but I'll be at least sub-5:00, and if I want to practise this event I would want to get around the 4:00 mark probably
Megaminx: A good global would be sub-1:40, because with that I could make it under any cutoff in Australia for this event!
Skewb: Um.... maybe do a little bit of practise? Sub-10 I guess
Pyraminx: Again, I don't really like side events, but I might practise this for sub-7 or something.
3x3 OH: I might get into this event as it's an interesting version of 3x3, and I might aim for sub-22 or if I grind this then sub-20
3x3 BLD: Hmmmmmmm.... well, my father said that if I manage to get a success in my blindfolded comp in March this year, I can choose any smartcube I want from TheCubicle!!! So, I guess an official success, maybe around 3:00?
Clock: I prefer to pretend I don't have a clock

but I guess that because it isn't WCA legal.......

yeah I'm not practising clock

3x3: sub-6.5, learn at least one set of ZBLL (i’ve been saying this since last year and haven’t done it lol), make it to PhilChamps 2026 finals, and lastly… win 3x3 in a competition
2x2: sub-1.4, learn EG-2, TCLL, and TEG (basically copy @EvanCuber1 ‘s homework
4x4: get sub-38 with the CVOB method, officially publicize CVOB, and try to make tutorials on CVOB
OH: get sub-AJT17 with APB, get PR, and thats it lol
Skewb: actually practice

other: learn 3BLD

Is CVOB a method that you made? Could you give a brief explanation? It sounds interesting.
Caleb Valenzuela’s Optimized Block (CVOB) is a new method he created, and is similar to OBLBL but with a more efficient approach (efficient in terms of turn speed. (He hasn’t computed the average movecount yet)
Here are the steps:
Step 1: Solve the Blue and green centers as if you were using Yau (he’ll be more in depth with these steps in the official tutorial)
Step 2: solve a 1x3x4 with the blue center on the left
Step 3: expand the 1x3x4 into a 2x2x3 (making sure you preserve the FL pair) using F3L techniques. Repeat again to expand the 2x2x3 into a 3x3x3 cube
Step 4: solve the front center (in his case it would be usually red) and the DF edge using F3L techniques
Step 5: finish edge pairing (like in Yau)
step 6: solve 3x3 stage using the APB method

yeah and I discovered that using CFOP for the last step is faster (for me at least, maybe @AJT17 would do better using APB)

thanks for explaining for me
