Hey everyone!
I’m Gael, from Argentina.

I’m a competitive speedcuber and author, and I’ve been involved in the cubing scene for many years — both competing and helping others improve.

A bit about me:
• 8× South American Records
• 10× Argentine National Records
• #10 World Rank in Sum of Ranks (2024)
• 7-time Argentine National Champion

I’ve written two books on speedcubing:
  • The Cubing Bible – a complete technical reference covering all 17 WCA categories, from beginner to world-class level, with contributions from many elite cubers (Tommy Cherry, Luke Garret, Leandro López, Stanley Chapel, Carter Kucala, and more).
  • Beyond the Cube – focused on the mental side of speedcubing: nerves, habits, frustration, pressure, and long-term improvement.

I joined the group mainly to connect with other cubers, exchange ideas, and learn from the community. Happy to answer questions or help if I can.

Nice to meet you all! 😊

Welcome to the forums Gael! Have you written any other non-cubing related books before, and 2, how long did it take for you to write those books and the time it took to publish them?
No — both of my books are cubing-related. Beyond the Cube focuses on the mental side of speedcubing, and The Cubing Bible is the technical one.

Each book took roughly 6 months from start to finish. That said, The Cubing Bible was much more intense. There was a stretch of about 20 days where I averaged 9.8 hours of work per day, while also attending a full-time technical high school (double-shift days).

So it was a pretty extreme but very rewarding process.

Saw the preview to the books and they look really good. I think there aren't enough books on cubing, so it's cool to see someone taking the time to write some high quality ones. Welcome to the forums :)
