Big Cube Critiques?

Hey! I’m also following the same path of chasing that 6x6 dream. I’ve been focusing a lot on improving my solves and consistency lately too. Your times and goals sound really solid — I’d love to connect and maybe exchange some critiques or tips along the way. Always great to see more big cube enthusiasts pushing for sub-4!
I solve 4x4 and 5x5 occasionally, but my main focus is 6x6.

If interested you can follow my progress here:

I seriously thought the bottom bit was a link
I wanna know if any one is willing to critique me for 4x4, 5x5, and 6x6
I can do ao5, mo3, or just a single for any one of them

avgs

4x4: 1:07
5x5: sub 2:15
6x6: mid to low 4

goals

4x4: sub min
5x5: sub 2
6x6: sub 4
Good luck !

Coolio
Should I send a single, mo3, or ao5

Hey! Thanks for offering to share your solves. Since you’re focused on 4 by 4, 5 by 5 and 6 by 6, it’s usually better to go with mo3 or ao5, because a single solve can be too random to judge your skill or consistency. I’m happy with whichever you prefer — I’m mainly focused on 6x6, but it’s great to see your progress on 4x4 and 5x5 too, and maybe exchange some tips!

Your times are really impressive! I love seeing different solving approaches. Which method do you usually follow for 4x4, 5x5, and 6x6?

this and practice.
it took me just under 100 solves (with learning nothing new) to consistently be sub 2.
Yeah, same here — consistency really makes the biggest difference. With regular practice alone, I managed to get sub-4 on 6x6. No new methods or fancy cubes needed — just steady improvement through consistent solving.

O yeah btw did u check out hoya ? It has a better flow then yau, and still retains ez centers from redux.

Yeah, I gave Hoya a try, but I found it a bit inefficient on 6x6. It definitely feels smoother on 4x4 and 5x5 though --works great for those sizes! Maybe it’s just that I’ve gotten used to the flow of reduction on 6x6.
Honestly, I’ve come to realize that methods don’t matter as much as overall flow and consistency - once you get comfortable with your approach, efficiency just comes naturally.

Does pros use redux in 6*6?
