Approximate count of active 3-style users in the blindsolving community

I wanted to get a rough number of the active 3-style users (using good algs and UF/UFR buffer) in the blindsolving community.

Currently there are 350+ solvers who are sub-30 on the WCA and a majority of them are using 3-style, but many of them are not active, or are using DF/UBL which is unacceptable. Some cubers who are not using good enough UF/UFR 3-style algs are acceptable to be called themselves as active 3-style solvers.

That seems to needlessly discriminate against people that do use 3style with other buffers, such as China’s UR/UFR “nightmare” system 3style.

Umm…harsh

using an unoptimal buffer doesn’t change the fact that it’s still 3style, and that some of them are still incredibly fast (a lot of whom are faster than the majority of people who use UFR/UF buffers). If it works well for those people, I see no reason to treat their talents and preferences as awful.

Edit: Furthermore, if someone is using sub-optimal algs, then that’s still 3style. Cubing is built on variation, and if someone prefers Jack Cai’s algs over Elliott’s because it’s easier to memorize, they are still doing what works for them.

Why do recon of a random solve which is meaningless? Damn a colossal waste of everyone's time.

I have not done active practice since 2019, and I just show up to competitions. I don't want to get exec DNFs so I use bad comms. You can continue picking up on a washed up cuber who shows up to comps, or you can just mind your own business.

Bro uses UF3 and UF5 as well. From my perspective, bro is a versatile BLDer.

And not just a TPS frenzy short term BLDer.
