Which 5x5 edge pairing method you use?

Well some people don't know it so why should he not make a tutorial on it? And tons of other people use the method and have made tutorials on it, but they have not made the method. And some people prefer a video to text...jeez, don't diss Frank Morris, or I WILL have to slap you.

Yes I was being sarcastic. Dan does in fact use the bigcubes.com method; as far as I'm aware that is where he learnt to solve the 5x5 (I'm kinda guessing). I guess he does do it "his own way" but it is only an "advanced" version of the same method.

Anyway, about myself, I use the bigcubes.com method too, however I did not learn from the site, in fact I didn't know the site existed until at least half a year after I learnt to solve the 5x5, by which time I had developed the method considerably into my own style.
On this point, I think that intuitively, there are only two ways to solve the edges: bigcubes.com or AvG, in some way or other. Whether you figure it out for yourself or from the source doesn't seem to matter to people. I still get tagged as a "bigcubes.com method using person" even though bigcubes.com had nothing to do with my using the method. Oh well...

Summary:

BigCubes: "Invented" by Frank Morris, used by Dan Cohen. Create 8 triplets and finish the last 4 triplets with algs. Variations are that during the 8 triplets you do or don't restore the centers and that you might use AVG for the last 4 tripplets to reduce the number of algs

AVG: "Invented" by Arnaud van Galen, used by Erik Akkersdijk. Pair a wing with a center 12 * 2 times (or 11 * 2 times when you have parity) from a fixed buffer. Variations are that you don't use a fixed buffer or that you setup for a "dW2 replace dW2'" sometimes

Bigcubes.com is obviously the way to learn the bigcubes.com method
AVG can be learned from the how-to's on this forum:

Oh, and I use AVG ;)

I use sort of AVG, just a lot more freestyle, and with not E slice, but M slice pairing. avg is around 1:30 with a good cube (which I don't have right now :S current white core is very tight)

Hey could you describe it in more detail please? I'm wondering if our methods are similar :)

I use the cohen edge pairing method but a different kind of 2 at a time edges.

What I use is absolutely nothing like 2 at a time....

If you actually watched my "edge pairing video," I say that what I use is basically the bigcubes.com method. I've just tailored it a little towards my style.

jcuber could just be talking about the last 4 tredges with his 2 at a time thing, not sure though

AVG, but more freestyle and with the M-slice? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHe82wPVq_I&fmt=18

Wow it seems quite similar. I'm not entirely sure what Matyas is doing but it looks the same to mine: http://hi-games.net/profile/146
