Heartland Champs starts tomorrow, so I am going to go over my goals for each event.
3x3: Sub-12 Ao5, PR Single
Nothing crazy here, my PRs are just not reflective of my skill level, so I hope to get better results than I have in the past.
2x2: Finish top 50
Both of my PRs for 2x2 are quite good for me, so I am mainly just hoping to perform well against the competition.
4x4: Sub-52 Ao5, Sub 45 Single
The first time I did 4x4 in comp it went very badly, (that may have something to do with me waking up at 4 AM to get to the venue in time for check-in), so I am expecting much better results this time around, especially as I upgraded my cube recently.
5x5: Sub-1:40 Ao5, Sub 1:30 Single
This will be the first time I compete in 5x5, so all I want is a decent result that I can be proud of.
3BLD: Successful solve
This comp will mark the second time I have competed in 3BLD, and the first time resulted in no successes. If I can get at least one completed solve I will be happy.
3x3 OH: Sub-27 Ao5, Sub-25 Single
OH is one of the events I am the least consistent at, on a good day I average 23, on a bad day its 30 seconds or worse. Let's hope Saturday is a good day.
Clock: Sub-10 Ao5
I have never competed in clock before, and I don't practice a ton, so a sub-10 average would be reasonable.
Megaminx: Sub-1:30 ao5, Sub-1:20 Single
The first time I competed in Megaminx is one of the best cubing memory's I have ever had. Cutoff was 2:30, and I was not sure I would make that, and then I drop a 2:05 in my first solve, and later in the average get a 1:59, which was my PB at the time. Of course, I have improved since then, and at this comp am simply hoping to consistently solve in under 90 seconds.
Pyraminx: Sub-8 Ao5, Sub-5 Single
Pyra is another event I have only done once, and again, I have improved a lot since then. Both of these goals are fairly reasonable; however, they get more unlikely considering that Pyra is the first event I will be doing, and I have struggled with nerves in early evens in the past.
Skewb: Sub-8 Ao5
My Skewb PR single is crazy good, and because of that I am only going for PR average this time around, which should not be to difficult.
Square-1: Make cutoff, Sub-30 Single
Cutoff is 35 seconds for Squan, and that is right on the edge of my normal speed. If I make it, then it will be a fairly successful showing.
Parent Child Team Blind: Sub-3 Minutes
I am doing this with my dad, and we have not been practicing as much as we probably should. Sub-3 is a tossup, just depends on how things go.
High Hopes: These are things that I would love to do but are rather unlikely to happen.
