I use the Qiyi clock

use qiyi clock, make sure your solutions are efficient and your pin order is good, and then just grind solves.

Great. Watch walkthrough solves and learn from them. After that just grind solves and I guarantee you will get unstuck.

One thing I recommend is to learn thumb-turning for D moves. That really helped me in getting from ~9 to ~7-8

I actually just learnt that about 2 days ago and I’m just trying to get the hang of it

I just got pb avg of 12 and 5 thanks owen

also when I watched example solves I couldn’t really understand how to correct the corners fast

Truly, one of the primary ways to get fast at clock is to really grind solves. Much of the speed is in precision, so you gradually learn what varying numbers of turns look like. You can also practice what +1 or -4 (etc.) feel like.

Practice and familiarization with accurate turning. Once you become more comfortable with how a certain number of turns looks, you'll be able to faster recognize and execute solves.

Is adding extra magnets to the center dials of a Qiyi clock still a thing? I've seen a few youtube videos mention that, but I've also seen a vid that says newer batches of clocks already have stronger magnets in the center dials.

In April of last year, a 4.23 Clock average gave you WR12 officially. Now it will barely put you in Top 100 (WR99). That's the true scale of how much 7 Simul and new regs have changed the Clock landscape.

Before 7-simul, did everybody use beginner flip or some kind of more advanced method?

I believe top solvers used Sheerin/No Flip or they used extremely advanced Flip with PEA and other techniques.
