Community Feedback: how can the site improve?

I think it’d be funny if someone randomly got banned once a month. Mods just spin a wheel, and whoever gets picked gets banned for a week
But the part is, this is a cubing forum. And there really is no point in it.

I think the idea is good and funny

Also, I could see “😭” to be a good one for a post along the lines of “What the hell is this” type business

Maybe also angry reaction negatively affecting rs?
Do you mean if you get an angry reaction, you lose 1 RS score?
I think that would be a fine idea.

Maybe it would be good if a thread could be locked so that only the person who started it can post messages onto the thread. Or if you could delete messages like on your Profile page. Maybe it's already possible, idk. This would stop people getting into random discussions about irrelevant matters.
Or say if someone started a thread about heavy metal music it would stop people spamming it to oblivion with Dolly Parton songs. 🙂

Ban animated avatars that gesticulate frantically. It's unbearable.
This has a good suggestion inside it. Maybe have an option in settings where you can turn off gifs/have reduced motion?

This might sound stupid, but I want to seriously propose 💀 as a reaction, as it would be used a lot.
I understand why and I understand the internet slang, but not a good idea for this reason:
It shouldn’t be necessary to be up to date with internet slang to participate meaningfully in this forum.
There are (too young) children and much older adults on this website who aren't online all the time. Don't make their life worse.

I think the idea that you could "lose a reaction score" to compensate is meaningless.

This is a terrible idea. It's "funny" until it's not. Especially if it's someone who isn't aware of the change, and even if it is, if they aren't on board with it it's gonna suck for them. I don't go on this site loads, but to find I got banned would be straight up annoying. The only way this would work is if everyone agreed and I can tell you right now, that isn't happening. However, you could somehow get a group together of people who wanted this (but please don't do it by making a new thread) and spin that wheel yourself and don't go on this website for a week. Then you will find that it's a silly idea after all. Although you might benefit by not going on here for a week.

Now my suggestion: make it harder for people to double post. Either with a post cooldown or something similar on a thread. Maybe say that they can't reply to the same thread within the same day (or other preferred time period) unless someone responds. It would force people to edit posts/think more meaningfully about what they say the first time.

Clicking the 'accomplishments' button on a profile returns a server error.

Edit: It seems that this only applies for profiles that have added accomplishments, and accounts that have not added them work as usual, which would confirm that this is indeed an error with fetching the data

Many members are unfamiliar with the Forum Rules. I would suggest that on signing up to the website, members are automatically redirected to the page. Additionally, the page is somewhat hidden, and not easy to find- perhaps relocating it to a new location within the menu would help?

Can't believe that you want people to follow the forum rules smh.
