Hi!

I'm new, I'm very happy to become part of this community.
I recently purchased this cube from the defunct GuoJia brand that was left in stock in an online store. It measures 55.5mm and weighs 76g.

I'm researching what model it is and I'm a bit lost due to the little information there is about these cubes. It is not type A, A2, A3, A4 or A5. Neither does the Haiyan Cube. It looks similar to the Alpha CC and the mini Alpha. I have also read that there was the Alpha Common, perhaps it is this one. The person at the store assures me that it is an Alpha V, but it is not exactly. The separation of pieces, stickers and the central pieces are different.

I don't know what model it is. I hope someone can help me please

Thanks!

they have a "full-sealed" version on cubezz

maybe they had a "partially-sealed" version in the past?

it's a theory...

or maybe I misunderstood the term

sorry for my bad english

Incidentally I have the same cube from HKNowStore I think https://www.speedsolving.com/thread...ntification-thread.17946/page-92#post-1520578
They said it was Alpha I or II, but it doesn't match.

Maybe @camcuber or @a small kitten will know.

It is surely not an Alpha V. I own a few and they all look like this

Remind me to update the wiki sometime. https://www.speedsolving.com/wiki/index.php?title=GuoJia

In the link I posted, Alpha had a series called Feng or Sealed. Unfortunately, the OP said he would post pictures of the 5f when his wife got home, and that was 13 years ago.

This was exactly the one I bought. And I received the one I show in the photos. Cubezz assures me it's an Alpha V. There may be a half-seal, I'm investigating...

I have seen your previous post and the photo of your cube, I have also read the link to the list of Alpha series names. It's almost like mine. Now I just discovered that your cube is an Alpha V-FENG (5-f), just as you suspected. Look at this video:

And then mine also has to be a V-Feng. What I think is that they forgot to put the caps that seal the edges, because the edges are open on one side, and there is the socket where those caps rest, you will see it in my photos. I also find it strange, the central covers that have to be completely square straight, in mine they have a slight protrusion as you can also see. When assembling the cube, perhaps they got the wrong parts, or is it a modified version? v.2? And I think the stickers are those of the CC or the mini Alpha, they are not all square, they are different sizes.

Excuse me, I published in Spanish , I didn't realize. I already put it translated

It could be, they forgot to put the lids on and who knows what mixture they made.

@camcuber coming in clutch with the video 13 years ago

I conclude, the cube is an Alpha V Feng. It has to be that the first units are the ones with the same square stickers and the square center caps. Later in the following units (mine), they changed the stickers and the center covers, the brand redesigned them a little, is my theory.
Thank you all for your help and contribution!!
