a brief summary of all cubes. note that the attributes of types will acutely differ based on where you buy them from, etc. these descriptions are based off my opinions of the cubes. don't bite my head off if you disagree.

a-1: great cube. this one is the most popular. it tends to have a softer feel -- smooth while not as fast as some others. cuts corners pretty well. doesn't pop much.
a-2: strange "ribbons" on the insides of the center and edge pieces. pops a lot. not very smooth or fast -- too clicky.
a-"third model": strange "tabs" on edge pieces that fit under centers to prevent pops. not very smooth. not too many pops. clicky. plastic is thin, so it feels cheap. ironically, it costs more than most.
b: terrible. don't even try this one. turns badly. pops like crazy.
c: pretty good. plastic's pretty hard, so corner-cutting isn't great. really low turning resistance. pops quite a bit, but it's bearable. this cube is the perfect middle-cube; it isn't [too tight or too loose], [too soft or too hard], or [too springy or too clicky.]
d*: hardest plastic + least rounded cubies = bad corner-cutting. pops the least of all cubes. very quick turning, but not too smooth.
YUGA*: very smooth AND quick turning. pops almost never. rarely locks. this is my cube of choice.
e / Diansheng**: very fast out-of-box. little preparation necessary. very fast -- though not very smooth -- turning. clicky, with a "crisp" feel. costs only $4. doesn't pop much. locks easily. very loud.
f: very bubbly, pillowy cube. most rounded cubies. almost never locks. cuts corners well. thin plastic, so isn't too smooth. rarely pops. very loud. feels "cheap," because the plastic is so thin.

don't know about cube4you. sorry.

review of YUGA (not included in vids above)

*the difference between YUGA and standard type d: YUGA is the old type of type d, before they replaced the core and made it suck.
**controversy over dianshengs: they don't ALWAYS come with tiles instead of stickers. it depends on where you buy them. also, sometimes they come assembled, sometimes they don't.
