So, what kind of results do you think are needed to get to the next round in each event?

I guess 15-16 seconds for 3x3x3 semi-final.

I predict the winner of 3x3x3 will do it with a sub 13 time. I can't believe I am saying this, especially since I also believed that your 13.22 would never be beaten, Anssi :)

One-Handed: I don't know about how to get from the qualification round to the first round, but to get from the 1st to the 2nd round, I expect that you have to hit a sub26 or sub27 seconds time (16 people in the final).

By the way, how come some people are directly qualified for the 1st round whereas some others have to do the qualifications ??

I believe it is to do with numbers of people. My registartion was a little on the late side, so I have to qualify for BLD. I think that is why it is.

I hope the qualifiying times still go on the offical results.

yeah, the qualifications are for people who registered after a specifical date or after the number of participants allowed was reached...

I guess the winner will do a 12 or 13 avg on the final...

and maybe a 16.xx average won't get you into the semi-final...

For the events with a qualification round we have a fixed # of competitors for the first round. For 3x3 that is 200 competitors.
To get from qualification round to first round you have to be among the top x competitors. With x being the fixed # minus the # of competitors already in first round.
In general people registered after (I think it was) May 15 are in qualification round for 3x3, 3x3oh, 3x3bf, 4x4 and 5x5. Unless they are in top 50 of WCA ranking for the event.

We need to come up with something better for future competitions. The # of registrations was just bigger than we expected. Also, the number of events per competitor was bigger than we expected. That is why we need to use Friday too.

Oh, that's interesting. I registered after May 15 and haven't been to any competition until then. But in the meantime i got a time at Polish Open, which ranks me in top50 of 3x3bf. Do i have to compete in the qualification round anyway?
