Apantasiac 3BLDers

[Curunír]

I have aphantasia (no minds eye) and do 3BLD.
I'm curious how many other 3BLDers there are with aphantasia,

I'm pretty sure I also do too which is why i never memorize by using images

How do you do 3Bld with aphantasia

[Jorian Meeuse]

I know Enoch Gray has aphantasia, and he has done 11BLD.

Personally, I can visualize things, but I don't use it during 3BLD, as it's very slow.
For multiblind, I pretty much only visualise the first word of edges and the first word of corners of each cube. I don't know why, I just prefer that I guess.

In 3BLD we already convert the pattern on the cube into words just most people memorize those words as a picture

[Curunír]

I have not tried multiblind I find roman rooms nearly impposible to do so I might have to try a different memo technique

[THE_V01DL0RD]

I still dont know how people like charlie eggins can do it so quickly

lol i'm not being offensive its just that " :c " at the end.

[Jorian Meeuse]

You just look at each piece real fast

*does y4 in .5 seconds
idk the memo :c

it takes me .5 seconds to find the buffer.

Lots of the very best BLDers, especially multiBLDers, have aphantasia. It might actually be an advantage, since it might possibly connect with better sentence/verbal memory. I don't have it - my visual imagery is very strong - so I can only imagine what it must be like to do big BLD without it.

Idk if I have aphantasia but I can't really visualize pictures for 3BLD, I just verbalize the letters in my head lol or make stories but without pictures

it takes me like 2 seconds to go to my orientation

can you imagine pictures in your head? it doesn't have to be about cubing

Kind of? It's almost like a faint picture, like it takes a lot of effort to visualize and then retrieve that visualization
