it is a Rubiks Brand tho. Like where do you find thateither this guy legitimately can't solve a 4x4 or he's making us lose our fkn minds through mental torture
I did it! I did it! Your explanation made the most sense and related it to the 3x3 cube the best. I didn’t want to given a computer generated solution. I wanted to see the pattern and use the correct algorithm!!! Yah!Hold the blue side in front with yellow on top and do this algorithm: R U R' U' Rw2 R2 U2 Rw2 R2 Uw2 Rw2 R2 Uw2 U' R U' R'
After that, you can solve it like a 3x3.
I think the thing that caught my attention was the blue side was almost all blue except for top right corner and had red facing me (yellow side up). And the red face is adjacent to the blue. So I took a chance and it worked.I did it! I did it! Your explanation made the most sense and related it to the 3x3 cube the best. I didn’t want to given a computer generated solution. Well done! I know how it feels learning a new cube, having spent solid weeks learning 3x3 so I really appreciate the effort you’ve put in to understand everything! Oh yah! Thanks for your help too! I’m going to review all messages and document all the correct steps/ algorithms so I can do it again on a spare 4x4 cube I bought to experiment.Well done! Yah, thanks to Gloopygum and CoderGuru and everyone else who helped me!Oh yah! Thanks for your help too! I’m going to review all messages and document all the correct steps/ algorithms so I can do it again on a spare 4x4 cube I bought to experiment.
I am working on a new 4x4 and this formula did work this time with one blank edge on the yellow top. Blank edge was facing me, etc, etc. I wonder what happened?RIP you have parity. Firstly, as you can see there are 3 yellow edges, and you want to put the blank edge in front of you (yellow still at the top). then you want to do the parity algorithm:
r U2 x r U2 r U2 r' U2 l U2 r' U2 r U2 r' U2 r'
after that send another photo

Which way should I position my cube to perform your last algorithm you gave me?Rw2=r2 correct?
Rw2=r2 correct?
See AdvantageousFrog post #95Which way should I position my cube to perform your last algorithm you gave me?
Larry
Just good red in front, and do the same algorithm. Then you can solve it as a 3x3, like the post above mine said.See AdvantageousFrog post #95
OkThis parity algorithm technically works from every angle. Just make sure to do it with yellow side facing up
After that just solve it like a normal 3x3

Would green side work as well also?
Yep.Would green side work as well also?
GreatYep.
