Just looking for some tips, I know I need to work on lookahead a LOT, and recognition. I've been stuck at this point for the last week or so and self teaching isn't working too well. Any feedback is appreciated.

thanks

You should work on almost everything, but you don't have to do alot to get much better, practise cross and F2L, OLL is ok, but you need to practise PLL recognition for the PLL's you know

Everything could use a little work. You'll get faster with practice. Work on making F2L smoother and looking ahead at your next pairs. And I have to mention the PLL recognition, that was a u-perm, recognition for at least the easier PLLs have to be fast.

hahah yeah I know.. I just finished with full PLL, I haven't been focusing on speed/recognition as much as alg memorization. I think I froze so much on that U perm because it was my first filmed solve :) . Usually those don't take me so long, my main trouble is recognizing the G, V, and F perms. I wanna focus on my entire first two layers (cross and f2l pairs). Any pointers for improving on the cross? My planning is what I want to work on

Have you watched badmephisto's cross video? The only real cross tip I can give is to make the cross while disregarding the centers to which the pieces belong, and then the last move should be a D move (if neccessary) to correct the cross. That and just try to solve more than one edge at once... fix bad edges while putting good ones in place.

a) be able to memorize cross algorithm during examination time
b) look-ahead during F2L (find next pair while still solving the first)
c) quicker recognition time for PLL cases (this just comes through practice)

just keep cubing; the great thing about it is that to "practice" is really just to cube as often as possible. you don't literally need to sit down and say, "hmm... what should i work on today?" as you would with, say, a musical instrument.
