Hey all! I will be organizing a picture cube competition, that may involve picture cubes with these requirements:

1. The picture cubes must have pictures on ALL SIX sides.
2. The cubes may have one large picture per side, such as the SCS Las Vegas Picture Cube (I couldn't get the picture to work) or one picture per sticker with nine pictures per side, like this cube:

or a combination of both.
3. I will release the scrambles soon.
4. The centers MUST be oriented. If the centers are not oriented, it will be a DNF.
5. No pieces can be duplicates, and it must solve like a standard 3x3.
6. The competitor limit is 20 competitors, and you must submit video footage of the solve.

Sounds fun! Sadly, I don't have a picture cube myself, so I can't compete. However, I will advise you to add the rule that no two pieces may be identical, so as to avoid unfair advantages.

We also organized a competition to solve a Picture cube - for computer based solvers.
The goal is to solve it as optimal as possible and benchmark various solvers.
Tomas Rokicki is participating (currently top1 on the leaderboard).
I wonder is any one is interested ?
PS
We are developing AI based solvers "CayleyPy" for puzzles and mathematical counterparts - "Cayley graphs" - it is open-source crowd-sourcing project - would be happy to collaborate.

hey can I use a 5x5x5 as picture cube?

I that case could we receive a kind of "big cube time discount"? (a factor of how worse you solve using big cube comparing to normal cube)

Ohh wait is this thread from 2023 so I guess this is not happening anymore?
I’m assuming this is not happening anymore, but I think this is a worthy bump as this is a relevant thing and creating pictures on cubes is still a concept that has a big area for improvement.
