What puzzle would you guys recommend?

Hey there, F'prime here. It's been a while since I was on the site, but I want to ask a question. For the past weeks, i felt unmotivated to actually pick up a cube, until today. I want to make cubing fun again, so I was thinking about doing something besides 3x3.

I was thinking about Skewb, Megaminx, and 4x4. What do you think I should pick?

Mega is very fun, but i will admit it's only fun omce you learn an s2l method (at least for me).

You should also at least get a decent puzzle, because having a bad puzzle could put you off the event, (which is why i used to hate mega).

I recommend Megaminx, it's one of my favorite events, even before I started speed solving it. You can get a very good one for $13, the YJ YuHu v2. My preferred method for speedsolving mega is Westlund, and it isn't very difficult to learn if you commit to it.

4x4 for sure! It's super fun. I'm slow rn but I am practicing it more than my other side events because of how fun it is.

But totally go with what you're interested in. Maybe you could do mega as well? As some people have said, the YJ yuhu is an incredible megaminx and it's only $13. I don't really do mega rn because I am focused on 4x4 and pyra, but I definitely want to get better at it once I get a bit better at those side events.

It’s pretty decent, though if you are used to that and it’s dying, I would recommend the Dayan Megaminx V2. I believe it’s close in size and is event faster than the Galaxy. Rip grip, but overall it’s a good megaminx. If you have big hands or like light magnets, go for the YuHu megaminx.
