Do you think a WCA competition with only 1 competitor will ever happen?

[FaTyl]

In the WCA Competition Requirements Policy (archived version from 2023-04-23), single competitor competitions are explicitly allowed.

An official WCA Competition must:
7. Have at least one competitor.

The fewest number of competitors a competition has had so far is two. Do you think a 1 competitor competition will ever happen? When? How? Why?

imagine competing against just one another cuber and winning because he only had DNFs
you would be so proud of yourself...

[F'prime]

That might happen, but that guy automatically becomes the winner!

I find this funny the delegate of the comp who was the only one to get FMC successes got PR on his average at that comp.

Dude he got a 28.33 and a 24 single which is very good. I highly doubt most people can beat that.

There was not really someone who could prove that he didn't cheat

But to be fair, his WCA Profile shows that he is a good cuber and he has also comparable results in bigger comps.

Update: the answer is no
sorry for the bump

Relevant thread bump. Interesting that they would change the rule, considering I don't think it's ever been relevant or likely.
