Hello, I am trying to get Sub-10 on 4BLD and Sub-20 on 5BLD by Saturday, because I have a comp then. As of now, I know how to solve both the 4x4 and 5x5 blindfolded, but I have not gotten a success yet. I also do not have a letter pair list and I do not think I have time to make one. Does anybody have any tips?

If your goal is to have the best chance possible of a success with those time limits by Saturday, it's probably best to just do lots of solve attempts. Especially over the next few days - better to do lots of solves the next few days, then only a few the last few days so you don't burn out your memory.

Try to remember whatever images you come up with on the fly for letter pairs as you practice, and that way you'll have a partial list. The laat few days, when you're doing fewer solves, you can work on adding letter pairs.

Realistically your odds are probably not great of a success, but you certainly have a real chance at one. Good luck!!

Thank You!

I honestly have no idea, my first 4BLD success was sub-4

What Mike said is true though so just go off of that.
Wow! That's fast for a first success.

I think the reason is because you switched to 4BLD when you were already fast at 3BLD, so you will automatically be fast at memo

I guess one other point is to do postmortems on your solves. Scramble carefully (so you can reapply the scramble to figure things out), and if your attempt is close but slightly off, try to figure out exactly what you did wrong. Just a few extra minutes on each failed solve like this can greatly improve your accuracy.

well no because 3BLD memo is almost all audio and 4BLD is almost pure words. The reason is that I did 7BLD almost 2 years before 4BLD (idk why). I only did some 4BLD for the comp on july 2nd 2022 (first success was 2 days before the comp). I got NR on my 6th ever success (lol), so that motivated me, and I did around 100 solves after that. I haven't done 4BLD since probably August 2022, but I could probably be sub 2 with just 1 month of serious practice. I'm simply not motivated enough to try, so I'll just have to wait for a comp with big BLD and get some motivation.

To add on to this, filming your solves might also help. If you make a mistake in something (rather than missing a step or misremembering) you can see what exactly you did wrong to help avoid doing it in the future.
