[WR] 4.75 3x3 Average by Yiheng Wang - Misscramble

Yes you can check a scramble quickly, how about checking 500 scrambles in 1 round with 100 competitors, excluding extras. Scrambles that should already have been checked and signed for that they are correct.

500 scrambles - if you foolishly had just one person check them - would take 15-25 minutes total. It literally takes 2-3 seconds to check a scramble. Obviously, it would not ADD 15-25 minutes, though, since it would be happening at the same time as everything else.

I don't think we need an additional scramble verification person. People are supposed to already be checking and signing their name.

And, yes, I've organized and delegated multiple competitions.

That's why I suggested to only add an additional review to the top cubers.

There could be one additional person to check scrambles. The Timesheets of the top cubers get marked to make sure that they are double checked. Ther rest of the time if no "vip-cubes" are there, the reviewer can do some spot checks but not all scrambles run trough the 4 eyes review.

I think this wouldn't block the whole process too much.
But you would need one more person in the scrambling team.

Only doing top cubers would be kind of discriminating since everyone is the same in comp. I understand that there is a difference between a misscramble of a WR average and a misscramble of a 50 second average, but still, people pay to get their results official so it is only fair if we do it for everyone.

And again, like I said, no additional person is needed if the first person checks properly.

I agree. It's not even like it's an additional thing, you literally have to do it according to the regulations(4g), and the scramblers are just being lazy.
But I don't think we're going to fix laziness. So I propose that one of the organizers will have to check the scrambling area and make sure everyone double-checks scrambles.

Possibly the WCA could add a specific job (similar to scrambling, running, and judging), but for checking? It would hopefully reduce the amount of misscrambles not only for a 50 second average but also a record average. Just a thought, please give your thoughts!
Again this to me would be a waste of time and resources, the regulations are clear and if followed then there would be no problems. As mentioned it is a people management issue, and the better that is managed over time the likelihood of getting a miscramble will decrease.

Yiheng wang is super fast in his practice sessions as well.

He seems very inconsistent. He comfortably averages sub 5 sometimes, and other times, he messes up and gets averages of 5.8+. If he can stop making errors like this I think he would globally average sub-5.
