There will probably/might come a time where the world record of every event are at its peak and cannot be broken. Do you think this will happen? When do you think that time will come?

I don't see a time when world records will stop. Except for FMC, it is always possible to break the record by 0.01, which is a very small margin. The closest we would get to records stopping is in 2x2, Skewb, and Pyraminx singles. Maybe someday someone will get a crazy 2x2 single and it stands for multiple decades. At that point, we could consider that record to be unbreakable. But even that is very far away - I'm sure that there are tons of people who can stackmat a sub-0.47 for a 4-mover on a good day.

But in general, we could never say that a record will stand forever, since the future is always uncertain. I think a more interesting question to consider is when records will start becoming much more infrequent. For example, what will be the first year when no world records are broken? Even in 2020, when there were extremely few competitions, 6 records were broken. Records were broken about once a week in 2022. I think it's safe to say that world records will be rather frequent for the foreseeable future.

I think we will see a lot more improvement in longer events; namely 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, 7x7, megaminx, big BLD, Multi-Blind

Im sorry what???

5BLD and MBLD will be easy to beat hundreds of years into the future, so there is no dearth of saturation there.

MBLD score is an increasing function, it does not approach zero like other events. So, it has a lot of potential to improve.
Hundreds of years into the future 33BLD will be popular.

I think there will be bigger gaps between each record, and little improvement. But I do think it will keep improving.

Think of it this way—will speedcubing still be a thing in 200,000 years? Probably not. So sometime between now and then, the last world record will happen, for one reason or another. It'll probably be much sooner than 200k years from now, maybe more like a couple hundred years at most, there's no way to tell. There will be an end, the question is when.

I think we are far from not having WRs. If I had to guess, the half-life of WRs could be something like 8 months or something. That means by Feb 2024, we could expect to have 50% of current records to be broken. TBH, that's not a really long time, I would wait until the half-life becomes 18 months or something before I worry about not having WRs.
