Hello everybody!

First, I would just like to say how excited l am to have found a cubing forum with cubers from all around the world!

I am a new-ish cuber (I started a few months ago). I average around 30 seconds on the 3x3, but sometimes I get 26 second solves and sometimes I get 35 second solves. I am mainly trying to improve the flow of f2l at this point. I will probably learn full PLL once I am sub-25. I also enjoy 2x2, which I started learning before I got into the 3x3. I average 6-7 seconds using the Ortega method. My main 3x3 is the Moyu Weilong WR M 2021 and my main 2x2 is the Gan 251 M Pro. Right now, I am pretty slow at the skewb and pyraminx but I am trying my best to improve. I also love the megaminx, but I am slow at it aswell.

My goals:
Right now, I am trying to make my way to only sub-30 solves on the 3x3, and only sub-7 solves on 2x2 (with Ortega) By the end of the year, I would like to have achieved at least sub-17 solves on 3x3 and I am not yet sure of my 2x2 goals. I would like to be sub-10 at skewb and pyraminx too.

Again, I am a relatively new cuber and ANY advice related to ANY cube is very much appreciated! Thank you for reading this, and happy cubing!

Edit: One of my goals for the cubing forum is to place under 200 during a weekly comp.

Welcome! I average mid to low 20s, but was averaging 30s for a long time and just recently got over that. Its possible, I promise lol. Just work on lookahead. That's one of my main struggles. Also, make sure you start with 2 look oll and pll. I accidently tried to learn one look starting out.... that was a mistake! But yeah, just have fun. If you get frustrated, take a break. Also, when learning algorithms, I find the best way to memorize one is to do it a few times, take a 10 minute break, and then do them again. That cycle makes it stick better than just doing it over and over.

Welcome! I would strongly encourage you to start learning full PLL know. The longer you know it, the more benefit you get from it and the more practice you will get using it. Then learn OLL. That way once you've learned all the necessary algs you can practice them and then know that the rest of your improvement is going to come from improving solve skills like inspecting, turning, lookahead, F2L solutions and decisions, etc.

Thank you all so much for the feedback and warm welcomes!

Also, if you get the chance, go to a comp as soon as possible! From what I've heard, they're great. Im going to my first next month and cant wait. Even if you think you wont win, comps are pretty much just big get-togethers for a bunch of geeks with cubes
Thanks for the tip! also, good luck at the comp, I hope you have fun!
