So I was just thinking, is it possible to solve a 4x4 oll parity case with an alg that isn't just parity+OLL? (Using another parity alg to solve the whole of OLL)
Not only is it possible, the Algs already exist.
Somewhere in the Wiki(either under the amazingly long Parity page or under OLL Parity, gonna look later) and I have been told that a sheet is to be found under Cubeskills, since Feliks and Jayden use Part of it. Probably the better sheet, although I haven't looked at it in years.

Max doesn't use it. I know of nobody that uses the full Set, although there's no reason not to once algs are as good as they can be. Maybe the size. You are saving moves and a look(if you're not world class that is)
The most often said argument against it is that you can influence OLL with many options by doing Parity first whilr that doesn't work if you have a single algorithm for every case and not all of them are good yet.
These two seem good enough to be useful (at least as OLLCP):
R U 2R U R' U' r2 R U2 r2 U r U2 r' U2 r U' r2 U2 r'
r U R' U2 R U r' U2 r2 U' r U2 r' U2 r U r2 U2 r' U2 r'
There probably are better algs waiting to be found in RrUF or RrUD. I do not believe that the speed-optimal algs for the majority of the parity OLL cases will be a combination of normal parity and normal OLL.
