I have now created a new, updated chart for 2022.

If you have X time, you are in the top Y % of all WCA competitors for that event.

These are all official WCA times.
For the first 12 events, I used best averages only. For FMC and all the BLDs, I used best single times, since there are so few official averages for those events.

Wow, this is great! Can I ask where did you get the info for all these stats?

Official WCA results database export is publicly available right on their site.
A couple of the files in it list the best average and single for everyone in the WCA, for every event.

The brackets are just made up and percent chosen at random by the original poster on reddit 4 years ago. They said they based it on something similar that the USA Swimming organization uses. It's just for motivation, to let everyone know where they stand against everyone else.
But that person deleted their reddit account and never updated the chart again. I found it, liked it, so I recreated it and updated it, adding a few extra brackets.

Very interesting in comparison to relative time barriers based on WRs. Could be used to adjust the ratio actually

Holy, I think the average representing the 5x5 AAA is mine
I looked, it is you. I downloaded the wca database export last week, before any comps this past weekend. Then, there were 14,846 5x5 averages. 1% for that bracket rounded off is 148, and you were 148 in world rank at that time (you're 150 now).

My 2x2 average doesn't even put me on the chart lol. CC on 3x3, not to bad.

If I'm going off global avg (i.e. what I average at home right now):
2x2: BBB
3x3: AA
4x4: D
5, 6, & 7: E (off the chart)
OH: C
