I guess I was 11-12 years old when Rubik's Cube hit the world, and like everyone else in Norway, I also had a cube. We had no Internet in those ancient times, and it was not until a few years later, when I found a tiny pamphlet with a solution to the cube in a local bookshop, that I was able to solve it. My cube was probably very cheap, and it locked up all the time if it was not aligned properly. I can't remember how fast I managed to solve it, but somehow 1 minute 40 seconds-something is coming to mind. Anyway, nothing to be proud of, and soon later I stopped using it. Maybe I lost it, or it got damaged, I can't remember.
Now, almost 40 years later, I've started to think about the cube again, and last week I ordered one. I did some quick research watching a few reviews, and decided quite randomly to go for MoYu WeiLong WR 2021 M. It's still not here. While waiting for it, I've used my time reading and watching videos about solving methods. First I thought I should go for CFOP, being the most popular method, and start with a beginner version of that. But then, seeing Roux being mentioned a lot in many articles, I wanted to read more about that, and it seems better for me.
First goal is to beat the kid-version of myself (1:40) using the Roux method, and take it from there
