Hey fellow speedcubers! Since I am not yet sure whether I wanna go by my real name here, I'll introduce myself as Sellerie first (German for celery). I'm in my mid twenties and started speedcubing last christmas, so about one year ago. A good friend of mine (LittleLumos) introduced me to speedcubing and I guess I have been hooked ever since. In particular, I only recently (Covid and all) went to my first competition, failed my 3by3 average, but did really well on 4by4, so decided to main 4by4 now, haha.

Currently I am doing 22s 3by3 average at home, but I have also gotten a few sub 20 ao5s. My single pb is at 14:.5, but as always, that was a one off and I've only gotten close to it a few times, 2 or 3 15s, maybe 6 16s.
For 4by4, my current pb ao5 is actually from my first comp 2 weeks ago with 1:25.34. I was really happy about it because my only goal was to get one solve sub 1:30 and I managed all 5 sub 1:30. My single pb is at 1:16.67, but I am confident that I can get a single sub 1 minute eventually.

I really enjoy 6 and 7 as well (5 not as much since I have no magnetic 5 at home...), but my times are nowhere near an equivalent time to my 4 or 3. 7 is still over 10 minutes and a 6 solve in under 8 is okay for me.

I have once touched a Square-1 and even managed to teach myself to solve it with great difficulty, but since I don't own one myself, this is not my event, sadly. I would probably like Mirror blind eventually, but I don't own one either, so right now it's more a phantasy. Next up is probably more 3 and 4 practice and maybe 3 blind, I would love to be able to do that.

Thats's it from me for now, feel free to ask any questions, I am really happy to be here :)

Welcome to the forums, Sellerie!! You'll have a great time in the forums. What methods do you use in all your events?
So far I've only learned CFOP for 3x3x3. For bigger cubes I currently try Yau on even and reduction on odd cubes. For 2x2x2 I have no method but basically just do 3x3x3 algs. Blind method is called Old Pochmann, I think - the one with T- and Y-Perm. And then there's Pyra where I actually don't have a method either - I simply do one layer and then the last. It's more intuitve rather than alg based and probably far from my lower limit.

Hello there and welcome to the forums, F r F M F' R' E' F' E.

Welcome! Another "Senior" cuber from Germany like me. I also started in the pandemics, this summer I bought my first cube. Way worse times than yours though.

I'm honestly surprised how young the "Senior" club is on this forum. Are people generally speaking still in their teenage years? I'll gladly join the "Senior's club" though, if that means finding plenty of likeminded people :)

Then again, do the birthdays during the pandemic even count? I mean... Did we really turn a year older if we didn't have a year of our life to experience, in particular without cubing competitions? :D
