Neatcubing's Progression (Post-Hiatus) | Sub 12, 4 months. Is it possible?

the exams may have taken me some time
I'm probably no longer gonna pick this thread back up. It's been a long time since I've last touched my own Rubik's cube. (Mostly)Everybody I know have been offline for a long time already.
I don't even know why I am back. As a form of closure, maybe? I'm just posting this here in hopes someone who remembers me will see this.
I guess I'm just waiting for somebody to respond, to close this chapter of my life. Then again I might stay active on the forums but no longer practice.

Was curious what my ao5 currently is after two years, so booted up the ol' cstimer and checked.
(25.76)
19.68
21.01
20.90
(19.01)

ao5: 20.53

Pretty good I think after two years, only regressed like 2+ seconds

I have recently heard of the APB method, and after looking into it, it seems like a better method than CFOP ( at least on paper ) and I can start trying out this new method by learning 11 more algs.

So, I might actually switch to APB in the future. Depends if I wanna learn all the other stuff.

so I just decided to enter the forum comps cuz I was bored. I attended the 2x2 comp even though I literally have never practised it just cuz I could. And I actually broke my pb, how cool (now 3.73).
I got an 18.86 average for the 3x3 comp which I'm not very happy about but at least it's still sub 20.
I got a 2:20 average for 4x4 pretty proud of that even though I'm 3rd last. I blame it on my 4x4 not allowing me to go beyond like 4 tps

To keep me motivated, I have set a goal to become sub 12 by the end of the year. Or at least sub 15 if I'm too busy doing other things every day.
I will also do some 4x4 action on the side, and should hopefully get it down to sub 1:10 within the next month, if progress continues consistently. I can't tell if I can go lower than that due to hardware problems.
anyway, for this month I'll just prioritise LL, since it (somehow) takes up like half my solve, at an average of 7 seconds.

I think it is possible. I know you probably hear this all the time, but

Solves will only help reinforce your bad habits. That isn't to say don't do solves because they also reinforce your good habits, but always find your faults and work on them.

I do hear it all the time, but still appreciate the advice nonetheless. Which is why I will be prioritising LL, finish learning all of OLL, learn 2 side pll recog.
Should be enough to get me to average 15 I'll say

end of month update:
My 3x3 average has dropped from low 18s to mid 15 second solves, which is kinda crazy. I really hope that this rate of improvement continues this month, since if it does I might potentially break the sub 12 barrier.
My 4x4 average on the other hand seems to have worsened, likely due to me not practicing it. I blame it on the fact that my 4x4 popped one time and now I have PTSD from trying to assemble it.
Edit: Forgot to mention — 3x3 match the scramble is very, very fun.

I have noticed that recently I kept glancing at the timer subconsciously when I'm solving, which has been really detrimental to my times (averaging 16 past week). There was one time when I glanced at the timer and saw that I finished F2L at 8 seconds. Nevertheless me being the nervous wreck I am managed to end it at the 16 second mark. The scramble wasn't PB potential but I feel like I could have still got a 11 at least.

Anyhow, I've changed it so now the time doesn't update and my times are back — in the low 15s now. Hopefully I start progressing quicker soon.

And also not mess up any good scrams, that would be sad
