[Member Intro] Am I the oldest beginner? HI from Melbourne!!

Also as hard as it may sound i would suggest ignoring your goals and just focus on getting better long term. Once you reach your current goals you won't feel done but will simply move your goals further.
As it was beautifully said by I don't remember who. Some people solve a cube once and they move on with their life. Others think "oh OK. I solved it in 10 minutes but maybe I can do it faster. " if you fall in the second category (as you clearly do) the mindset never changes. Only the times you consider fast.

I started cubing with a goal of being sub-30. Now being 15.x on average I am still haunted by bad habits I established to get sub-30 as soon as possible.

P.s approaching 40 I'm also considered an older cuber ;)

Thanks, going full F2L and aiming higher sounds good. However, it takes a lot of commitment. I am at this time still planning the future steps and one consideration is whether I should use Roux, before I dive full in to CFOP and spend serious time and effort. I still need to try Roux and see if it is more suitable for me and my way of working and my age (limited years and slower learning). I heard it has less moves and less algorithms but is harder to learn. I also heard it's best to make the decision on solving method as early as relearning and changing habits after a lot of time with one method will be very difficult.
