MGC Square-1 Black Caps Issue

Yesterday I got the MGC square-1, and it works great. However, I am having issues replacing the yellow caps with black caps. There is a piece of plastic on the corner of all the black corner caps that are not on the yellow corner caps (as shown in picture 1). This makes it so the black corner caps cannot sit flush on the corner (as shown in pictures 2 & 3). I Don't know if I'm just missing something blatantly obvious, or if there is something wrong with the caps. I've looked at a few setup guides on YouTube, and none of them mention this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe try using a nail clipper to cut the extra plastic stem thing on the black pieces?

The yellow might have broken off. It's pretty stupid to point out as that would be pretty obvious to see. Have you tried taking the white off to see what they are like?

It worked. Now I'm gonna replace all the caps. Thank you for the help.

The problem was the black caps, not the yellow ones. I've fixed the black caps and now everything's good.

I think you might've just gotten some defective pieces. I haven't heard of any problems with these caps from anywhere else so this might just be a fluke.

I had the same issue all I did was cut off the stems on the black pieces with a knife and it worked.

It's also been confirmed that there is a new batch that has different caps that are less likely to break off while switching them out
