Well thank you for putting us on the poll, hopefully one day you will be deemed worth sponsoring by someone. I would recommend consistent practice across a range of events and that you produce original content on social media and gain a following. Thecubicle offered to sponsor cubehead when he was at just 300 subscribers because they could tell he was going to get big and they were clearly proven right.

I think it's best to be a fairly popular cuber AND have a good sponsor. If the cuber is popular but the sponsor isn't that big or great then, you know.
I'm not saying that you're not that great. You're one of the good shops.

So this is going to my own quest/progress thread. I also think there should be a sub forum for this. @pjk please!
Anyway, here are my goals:

2x2: Get a good cube
3x3: Sub 15 global
4x4: Get a cube
Megeminx: Get one

Because of J Perm, I would like to be sponsored by SCS, but I've always liked TC's white jackets.

Here is a video from Phil Yu about sponsorship. I am currently trying to put myself into a position to get sponsored. Right now the best thing that I can provide for a sponsor is my presence on these forums, but right now I'm working on getting more influence in the community (Sub1Hour YT is in the works right now) and getting faster. Just remember that sponsorship isn't supposed to be a 1 way kind of thing, its not meant to benefit only yourself as an individual. As long as your sponsor can get you what you need and you can get your sponsor what they need, then it will work.

I would also recommend looking for sponsorship in a company that fills out these requirements

1. You trust their products and business
2. You believe their products and business

I for one would only take sponsorship from 2 stores right now, one of which being TheCubicle, and the other being a local store that comes to comps. I would find it very difficult to take sponsorship from anywhere else since I believe that TheCubicle has the best products on the market, and I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending/representing a company that I feel doesn't have the best products. I would also be willing to take sponsorship from the local store since they have sponsored every single competition that I have gone to, and I have benefitted from their service greatly. I would apply the same thing if you are looking to get sponsored by a manufacturer. Right now, I think I would take sponsorship from YJ, Moyu, Qiyi, and Yuxin since I believe in their products and think that they are good for the community. On the other hand, I wouldn't accept sponsorship from GAN, since I think that their interests and the community's interests are in different places, not to mention they have by far the worst products out of the big 5 manufacturers in my own opinion and in the opinions of many members of the community.

TLDR; Don't take sponsorship for dumb reasons, take it because you believe in the product and are willing to put the work in for your sponsor. If you cant benefit your sponsor, you won't get a sponsor in the first place.

I would like to be sponsored because

1. The benefits;)
2. To promote my favorite company

Edit: Talking about GAN, I will stay neutral until I get a fair amount of experience with them.

You're asking to be sponsored, but what do YOU bring to the cubing store / manufacturer? Do you have a youtube?
According to WCA, nearly 2000 people average under 10 seconds...

@Sub1Hour You have a good presence on the forum but imo Youtube would reach a lot more potential viewers. I look forward to your channel when it arrives.

Poll updates: Speedcubing.org 1st place, TC 2nd, SCS 3rd, other 3rd
Don't just randomly choose a company to be sponsored by, make sure you believe in them. You should want to be sponsored by a company because you believe that they offer the best products and service, not because "J perm is the best YouTuber ever" or "White jackets look so cool"

I agree, to have a proper sponsorship you have to believe and support the company. Take DGCubes as an example: he had sponsorship offers from a few different companies, but declined all of them because he didn't know which company he most believed in. Later, after trying different shops, he was able to decide that the company he could most support was CubeDepotUSA
