the E permutation.

Wow, that's a nice E perm (Erik's). It's both easy to execute and easy to memorize. The only thing I don't like about it is that now I'll probably forget the 14-move algorithm, so I won't have that available for fewest moves. (Of course, it is pretty much true that if you need an E perm at the end of a fewest moves solve, it's probably a disaster solve anyway.)

hold the E-perm like this. so this is after the x' move.
<---->

<---->

x'(U’RUL’U’) (R’U LU’ R’U ) (L’U’RUL)x

or the left version of that: x'(UL’U’RU) (LU’ R’U LU’) (RUL’U’R’)x

it's a cube rotation veriation of the one from erik. don't know if it already exists, but i just made this one up. could be pretty fast i think.

Come on, two insertions should be 12 moves!

FMC T-perm? R2 u' R2 u R2 y' L2 u L2 u' L2 U

Besides, the HTM optimal E-perm is easy: (L U' R u2 L' U R')*2

Here's one I'm trying out. its just the RUL alg done from a different angle. I'm good at turning with the D face with my third fingers, so I thought this might work better.

x R D' R' U R D R' U' R D R' U R D' R' U'

I can easily sub-2 for E perm with the standard alg x U R' U' L U R U' Rw'2 U' R U L U' R' U. I like the fact that it alternates between the left and right hands for every 2 or 3 moves, so while one hand is executing the other is regripping, which gives almost no pauses during execution.

Am I the only one who likes the E perm? The u2 isn't that big of a killer. >.<

haha one of very few, for sure.

is it really not your worst perm? it's mine by far.

V, F, the Ns, and a couple of the Gs are far worse.

i'm with you on the n's. both n's and my e are definitely the worst three. f not so much and v used to be bad but a couple of weeks ago i switched to R’ U R’ U’ y x2 R’ U R’ U’ x’ R2 U’ R’ U R U for the v-perm. that's helped a lot.

here's my alg:

R U') (R' U R'2) y (R U R' U' F' Dw) (R'2 F R F')
i really love this one. got it from bob burton's PLL page.

I use Erik Akkersdijk's:

x' (R U' R' D) (R U R' D') (R U R' D) (R U' R' D')

I love this algorithm!

I was just playing with it, and it occurred to me that it's just two commutators in a row:
x' [RU'R',D] [RUR',D] == incredibly easy to remember.

Also, I tried doing it like this:

x' (l F' l' D) (l F l' D') (l F l' D) (l F' l' D')

I do the F turns with my left index finger. For some reason, that flows a lot better for me (the mirror is also nice).

(R' F') (r' D) (R D'+U') (R' U) (L U') (R U+D)

Where I've put a + sign you can do two moves simultaneously, so this can be executed in six 'flicks' as shown by brackets. Not that I've perfected it yet but it feels promising :)
