I'd continue using my own version of CFOP.
Cross or Xcross
F2L-1
VHLS
COLL
EPLL

I'd say Xcross is a bit more efficient, as you don't have to worry about misslotted F2L edges.
VHLS and COLL are the same as your method
I think directly going to EPLL is quicker and saves recog time, as you have to insert the fifth edge THEN do EPLL for your method. I believe solving the fifth edge along with Xcross would be more efficient.

(VHLS takes quite a lot of moves. I've been trying to learn ZZ to cut the movecount plus rotate less)

Solve all corners - Basically solve the last corner while doing CO and CP for the last layer; kind of like VLSCP except you don't need to worry about the edge.

This is pretty much like solving a 2x2 with 1 look last slot, plus with EO makes longer moves in each alg.
So this + L5E is a huge load of algs, I don't think anyone would really attempt this, unless you're like tao yu.

Why not just:

EO Cross+1 Corner
2 F2L Pairs
3rd F2L Pair+CO (kinda like WV, at this point, LL should be oriented)
solve last middle layer edge + PLL

Cross+1 Corner
2 F2L Pairs +EO (One pair does VHLS or both influencing EO)
3rd F2L Pair +CO
solve everything with that last middle layer edge

The bad thing is, you need hella advanced lookahead, prediction, and good flow to influence EO

The algs Toa Yu posted are really good and makes me pretty interested in learning them. Wouldn't a better way of going about what OP is trying to accomplish be:

Normal CFOP until LS
Inset F2l corner and orient edges (from either rotation)
COLL (possibly alternate algs for the some cases by also solving the unsolved F2L edge)
L5E

As someone who already does a lot of edge control this seems worth for cases where solving both the pair and eo would take alot of moves. It's nice that since you can ignore the orientation of the last f2l edge LS can always be solved from FR.
If anyone has the algs for step two could you please share. I'm doing it intuitively but struggle with short solutions for when the corner is oriented with DFR facing up
