Hey guys! I'm a teenage cuber from Louisiana. I average about 21 seconds on 3x3, and I wish to improve my speed and knowledge by using the speedsolving wiki and forums. My PB is 13.02. Here is a list of my other PBs.

I plan on specializing in BLD, even though I have bad memory. I believe training in BLD will impact my life the most because it trains memory. I will be glad to talk with any BLDers if you have any tips. So far I know OP/OP, and I am almost done transitioning to M2/OP. I plan to use BH/TuRBo as my main method, but only when I get faster with M2/OP ;)

My other hobbies besides cubing are soccer, reading, & writing.

If you are slower than me, I would be glad to give you tips to help you go faster.

Happy Cubing!:)

Sounds awesome. That attitude about BLD will likely make you successful at BLD. And since memorization is more about technique than natural talent, having "bad memory" is not such a bad thing. I've often said that one of the best talents I bring to BLD solving is that I tend to forget easily. You'd think that would be a disadvantage, but it's often a big advantage with BLD solving, since you can easily do solves one after another without being as affected as some people are by the memorization from the previous solve. Good luck with your cubing!

Thanks! Should I learn 3 style after M2/OP, or should I learn an intermediate method? Also, what memo method would be the best?
It doesn't matter too much, although I would suggest learning 3style sooner rather than later. For memo, what most people do is memo corners using a sentence like thing, then memorize edges using audio(sounds, so like if your memo was EO TR LF MN, I might do ee-o ter lef min to memorize it, or something similar)

Learn "advanced" M2, which adds some simple tricks that save a lot of moves. Once you get to about 1:30 that's a good time to start learning 3style corners. OP uses a lot of moves, so switching corners will boost your times way more than edges. IMHO it's not worth switching from advanced M2 to 3style edges until you're under 1:00.

Welcome! but plz never learn M2 and don't listen to all these people recommending it. M2 sucks
The best 3BLDers have switched/are switching to UF buffer from DF(M2 buffer), so if you become good you will regret learning M2.
I would recommend learning "Turbo" method - it uses UF buffer(good for 3-style transition, unlike DF) and it is A LOT easier than M2, and as fast of course. I think Zane Carney has a tutorial on it.
Good luck.

I was originally going for TuRBo, but what would be a good method for corners? Does TuRBo have a corner method also?

Old Pochmann is sufficiently good for the time being.

I also absolutely dissgree with saying M2 "sucks", since its speed is comparsble to that of Turbo and the only real disadvantage shows up only when you're transitioning into 3Style: DF as a buffer leads into slower algs.
