Why you gotta be like that, Mr. Mirror Cube?

oh, ok, Mr. Mirror Cube, I see how it is going to be... Guess you really gotta pay attention to the direction of the texture on the stickers! This puzzle just got about 10 times more difficult, LOL!

The sticker textures really don't matter. To fix that corner you'd have to solve that while twisting the one to the right of it, since that one is a cube and therefore its orientation doesn't matter. Holding it the way the picture is taken of it, do this algorithm: U' R' D' R D R' D' R D U D' R' D R D' R' D R
That should solve it

Hey! I had the same problem on mine, thanks!

Well, they must matter in some way, cuz otherwise the cube ending up this way would be impossible, no? A normal 3x3 can't do this. It's kind of a parity, no? Cuz multiple pieces can fit in the same place interchangeably (if you are disregarding the sticker texture).

It's a sort of parity I suppose. What happed is a cubic piece is twisted, but you can't tell since it's solved no matter how it's twisted. If you do an alg that twists the unsolved piece and the cubic piece (like the one I described), it'll seem like only the rectangular corner was affected.

At first I thought you had just twisted a corner, but then realized that's not a normal mirror cube. Is it the mirror S cube or something, I think from Moyu? A normal mirrorblocks has entirely individual pieces.

Yep, the MoYu Mirror cube S. It's a 3x3 shape mod similar to the regular mirror blocks, but some pieces aren't unique and some have arbitrary orientation (like the corner discussed here.)

So, other brands will not have this "problem"?

It's not the brand that's the issue, it's just that the mirror cube you have is a different kind of mirror cube. You have the Mirror cube S, and I don't know what the S stands for but it makes a difference. If you get a ShengShou or YuXin mirror blocks cube you won't have this issue.

Grrrrr..... this cube is really starting to get under my skin.... I'm trying to build it with the sticker "textures" all going the same way (per side), which is harder than hell (for me, that is), to see if that will prevent any parity errors at the end. So I get the first two layers done, and am trying to get my "yellow cross" on the top. I think I've got it, so I go to try to switch an edge with R U R' U R U2 R'.... I run it once, and the cube solves! Hadn't even looked at the corners yet. So, here I am, actually trying to learn something about how this cube works, and I get a lucky massive skip at the end, and don't learn a thing..... grrrrrrr. Mumble grumble scramble scramble.....

I swear, if I ever get this solved again with the textures aligned, like it came out of the box, I'm putting it on the shelf and never scrambling it again. Imma buy me a standard/normal mirror instead.

Solve the cube by its size. Solve cross matching with centers. Do f2l then F Sexy F’ till all the peices are flat. Then T perm to get the edges right. Then A perms (A lot of them) to get corners. Then do the alg Aerma showed.

Thanks! I guess I am kind of experimenting a little, see if I can get it back to the exact condition it was in When I opened the box (I.e., all textures going the same direction), in theory, that should make that 18 move alg unnecessary. I desperately, desperately do not want to Learn an 18 move alg. :-)

The alg is pretty intuitive. Alternatively, you could do sune U2 sune from back. Do it on a normal 3x3 first to see what it does.

Ok, i am sad to say the experiment failed. All sticker textures on all sides lined up perfectly, and I still get this. Not exactly the same as in my first post, but will the same alg finish it? Thanks to everyone for their responses!

EDIT: Nevermind, I got it!!
