Has anyone taken the time to set up and break in a new batch MeiYu (not just swapping center pieces)? I'm already pretty happy with my mini AoSu but I'm wondering if the MeiYu has potential to be great if you put the effort in?

I've tried setting up and breaking in my new batch MeiYu and, no. It's still sluggish and just not worth the money. I suggest trying a Cyclone Boys G4. Same size as mini AoSu but fast.Has anyone taken the time to set up and break in a new batch MeiYu (not just swapping center pieces)? Okay, thanks for the info. I still prefer the Mini AoSu but I have a G4 as well, definitely my top two favorites at the moment.I've tried setting up and breaking in my new batch MeiYu and, no. Are break-in solves all it takes to get the inner layers to speed up? They are so heavy and grindy out of the box, I can't imagine things improving that much.My new batch has 200ish solves on it, amazing cube, pretty fast good corner cutting. Only downsides are popping and cornertwists(thought was 2x2 and 3x3 only but wut) Meiyu>Aosu
Breaking in hasn't done much for me.Are break-in solves all it takes to get the inner layers to speed up? They are so heavy and grindy out of the box, I can't imagine things improving that much.
a decent amount of lube in the inner layers and in between the internal pieces helps a lotAre break-in solves all it takes to get the inner layers to speed up? They are so heavy and grindy out of the box, I can't imagine things improving that much.
I ordered one from thecubicle.us, should come next week. And the reason it feels so tight and crunchy is because you may have a faulty first batch.
Uhhhh...No, the new batch is tight, heavy and crunchy, even when ordering three of them. This cube is my main and here's why.
1. Out of the box this cube is terrible, sorry, if you don't want to take the time to set it up, don't bother
2. 500 solves is the big part, dries out lube a lot and makes the cube feel slightly less scratchy and heavy, and makes it slightly faster.
3. Dissemble the cube and wipe down all the lube off it and put
1. Lubicle Speedy on inner layers
2. Lubicle silk on outer layers
4. Now break in the cube 500 solves. This cube should now have
1. A smooth and slightly scratchy feel (which is quite nice for me)
2. Awesome stability and no popping or corner twists
3. Quite fast, but not the fastest on the market
4. Slightly lighter then out of the box.
I prefer this cube over my fully set up
1. Qiyi WuQue
2. YuXin Blue
3. MoYu AoSu
4. Thunderclap 4x4
Great option if you follow my instructions!
