Old plastic or New plastic

Hello, I was talking to a Cubing friend at school today and he said that he has a Zhanchi from a few years ago. Do any of you guys know when Dayan switches their plastic. I am thinking about purchasing this cube from him, but I’m not sure if the plastic is old or new. Thanks!

Not exactly sure, but I'd estimate some time around 2012-2013.

Either way, an old plastic ZhanChi really isn't worth it nowadays (unless it's for collection purposes). Basically any modern speedcube is way better.

Yes you are right. The best way to tell if it is old plastic is to see if the core is a creme/tan color for old plastic and a white/clear color for new plastic.
