I'm already bored with fridrich, and I'm only sub 55.

The question now is: what should I replace it with?

Petrus seems kind of interesting, and it feels like I'm actually solving the cube and not just memorizing a ton of algorithms, but it seems like it's the exact same thing over and over. Plus you still need last layer algs.

Roux seems interesting, but I haven't even tried it yet, so...

I don't want anything to do with zz, WAY too many algorithms.

Don't really know about any other methods, so if you vote other, tell me what the method is.

EDIT: The poll is to vote for which method can reach decent times without just hammering in algorithms. It has nothing to do with which method you like, think it best, or think will make me solve the fastest.

Roux. Its a fast method already and its STILL undergoing improvements. Not only that but it is also the FUNNEST way to solve the cube.

ZZ doesn't have that many algorithms. If you are rejecting it because you think it has a lot, then you really don't have a reason to :P

Maybe you're confusing it with ZB?

I think so, but I also don't feel comfortable with the EOLine, and blockbuilding with it takes forever (for me).

To everyone who has voted, POST!!! Why should I use whichever method you voted for? What did you mean by other? So far I'm leaning towards Roux because the people that voted for it are posting.

Also, why are so many people voting to stay with Fridrich? I'm still going to remember it, and if I can sub-20 any other method, I could easily pick it back up, and it's not like I'm NEVER going to use it.

Most likely going to be petrus or Roux. The problem is, I can't find a decent explanation for either method anywhere. :(

You're a lifesaver!!! Do you know where to find good CMLL algs? When I learned Fridrich, I had to relearn a ton of algs because the ones I first got were terrible.

I use a combonation of cmlls, colls, and clls.

http://www.erikku.110mb.com/CLL.html ( CLL )
http://grrroux.free.fr/method/Step_3.html ( CMLL )
http://www.cosine-systems.com/cubestation/coll/coll.html ( COLL )

You can also look on the speedsolving wiki

Rowe Hessler also has tutorials on the CLLs he uses and how he recognizes ( im not sure if thats spelled right ) them.

4weeks: I'd say I'm officially sub 50 with fridrich, about 2 months now, since I took a huge break for half that time, and not, I average 30 minutes to an hour a day cubing. I think I started CFOP about 5 1/3 weeks ago.

Haven';t really looked into the CMLL, CLL, and COLL, but how are they interchangeable?

I voted for ZZ because it's fun at took me just an hour of practice to get to sub-20 average but it would be worth it when blah finishes his 1-LLL algs.

Roux is a great method. I used it when I was at 30 secs and got down to 20 secs then I changed to Fridrich. Roux is fun but takes more practice compared to Fridrich IMO because of the extra freedom of movement during the 2 blocks. But with good look ahead, it is deadly.

Petrus is great as a F2L variation(yes I said F2L variation). For LL you should learn CLL and EPLL if you use this method.

You could look around and check methods like MGLS and others.

Personally, I think CMLL and COLL and CLL are crap, however CLS with petrus is excellent, although definitely an advanced thing to use ;

I disagree.
I can sub-1.5 on U, Z, and H perms, and actually remember to execute them at full speed in a real solve. They almost never lock up or pop. That's not the same with most of my other PLLs. Therefore, I'm going to learn COLL. I don't like CLL and CMLL because there are very few algs that aren't actually COLL that are faster than COLL. The move count is barely lower. Unless someone can prove me wrong with data?
Isn't COLL like 10.xx or 11.xx and CMLL 9.xx or 10.xx? And CLL on 2x2 is quite different from 3x3 CLL... I wonder if ignoring centers and all edges will decrease the move count by a lot.
