Yes, 4LLL is still CFOP, at least in my opinion. As long as it has the same basic structure, of a cross, F2L, and a last layer that consists of OLL, even if it is 2-look, and PLL, again, even if it is 2-look, it qualifies as CFOP. One could even make the argument that certain beginner's methods are basic, broken-down forms of CFOP, even though I wouldn't fully agree with this.

I believe that as long as I am doing OLL and PLL and not ZBLL or something. It doesnt matter how many steps I take. C-Cross F- F2l- O- I’m orientating the last layer in 2 steps P- Permuting in 2 steps. Beginners method is Cross- Corners- Edges- Oll -PLL. I think F2l is the main difference between CFOP and beginners.

Well it’s not really true cfop. You could argue that it’s just cfop doing thinks with more looks and algs but if you say that then begginers method is cfop as well. I would just say it’s f2l and 4lll

This is actually a really interesting debate.
If we break down what CFOP means, we get that every method that does
-First two layers by starting with a cross
-Last Layer by orienting first
can be considered CFOP, that is the majority of Layer-by-Layer methods.
Although I don't think we should get back to the habit of calling CFOP Friedrich, it would be locical to more precisely change
OLL to Friedrich OLL
F2L to Friedrich F2L
PLL to Friedrich PLL
that leaves enough room for 4LLL-COLL-ZBLL-Whatever to be CFOP and Friedrich CFOP can keep being what it is[assuming we want to change the term CFOP from a Method to a System(loosely in cubing, a system and method is the same, but you get my point)]

In my opinion there needs to be someway of distinguishing between full CFOP and beginner versions so I usually try to refer to 4lll as CFOOPP and youcandothecube.com's beginners method as CFLOOOOOPPPP. though that does get a bit silly
:D This is too funny. I think I'll call beginners method CFLOOOOOPPPP every once in a while as a joke from now on.

What I don't get about the argument is that if it's acceptable to do F2L in 4 looks, then why isn't it acceptable to do OLL in 2 looks?

That said, while using 4LLL can still be called CFOP, it can't be called full CFOP.

Jessica Fridrich didn't even start using F2L until the late 80s and it wasn't invented by her, so that makes no sense. It's also Fridrich, not Friedrich.

I think Cross+F2L+4LLL is a variant of CFOP, just not full CFOP

I know, I think Schulz-Razoux invented it but people used to call CFOP the Fridrich method so this is what I wanted to say
