Why is there nothing additional in the regs to settle tied averages one way or the other? I.e. fastest single, or fastest median time?

There are more tied averages than you'd expect, and the same is true for 6x6x6.

Edit: 66 people in the top 1000 people have a tied rank.

  • 9f14) For "Mean of 3" and "Average of 5" rounds, if two or more competitors achieve identical average/mean results, rankings are assessed based on the best attempt per competitor, where "better" is defined as the shorter time.
This isn't applied on the WCA rankings for 7x7x7, seems like it's used to determine the winner of a single round in competition. Delegate plz clarify
