The 3x3x3 Example Solve Thread

So is this like a variant on Roux? What are its pros and cons?
It is a branch off of WaterRoux which is a Roux variant so yeah kinda :)

The big thing about the method is efficiency. The average movecount is right at 39; whereas CFOP is ~60, Roux is ~48, and ZZ is ~50. As far as we know, this is the first (speedsolving) method that has ever achieved a sub-40 average movecount! It has relatively few algs and a majority of the solve exists in the last 8 edges, which can be done entirely <MU>

I'd say the main problem with it is solving the blocks. I can't say if it's an issue yet as I haven't done much testing, but CP may have bad recog.

Thank you for asking, be sure to read about it on the New Method thread! Oh and @Attila, you may wish to look into this for FMC

While it still has some amount of relevance in this thread, check out Thermex; he proposed BOPE! I've worked with him quite a bit and he has some great ideas!

I'm glad people are interetsted in BOPE/Higgs, it was proposed very recently and is getting some attention. I plan on creating a thread for it at some point, and tomorrow I'll be posting some example solves on this thread with it. Algs still need to be generated, so it's hard to get fast solves with it.

Using BOPE on this one:
z' B2 M U' R2 U2 R2 (6/6)
y' U R U2 R' U2 R U2 R' (8/14)
U2 R2 U R2' U' R2 (6/20)
y M U2 M' U' M' U2 M2 F' M2 F (10/30)
U M' U2 M U' M U M' U2 M' U M' U2 M U (15/45)

Definitely on the unlucky side of solves with this method... everything was great until an absolute GARBAGE L8E. This is why I think &a different method needs to be devised to solve L8E. Also this so,ve would be a lot better if I knew EOLR :p

Btw here's the BOPE thread for anyone who's interested: https://www.speedsolving.com/forum/threads/bope-higgs.65984/

54 HTM/STM, not the best solve but alright.
