i am a new cuber who has been cubing for about 1-2 months. i just got my first speed cube(yj yulong 3x3) and have managed to get my record to be 47 seconds and average of around 1 min. i am only using the beginner method(cross, corners, second layer, top layer, top corners, middle pieces) and am wondering how to increase my times. thanks in advance ;)

I'm pretty sure u don't want to INCREASE your times.

I recommend learning key hole F2L at your level

I agree that Keyhole is a good, beginner low move count F2L method.

When I started, though, I didn't like the D turning or the switching from corners to edges then back to the last corner.
So I assembled a 3x3 method that has a little more consistency (it made more sense to me anyway)

It is called DSEF and it uses known algs and steps in such a way so that a beginner only has to memorize 1 alg (sune) and 2 sequences (4 moves each). I also turned this method into a step-by-step website and app. http://solvexio.cf

I hope some of that will help you!
