What the hell does "Y" mean?

I know that y means rotate around the y-axis, but what does a big Y mean?

on a forum Y usually means Why

When seeing it in an algorythm I would treat it as y, maybe the guy who wrote the alg kept caps lock on.

I would of thought it's the same as a lower case Y, unless the persons who noted the algorithms had decided for him self that it meant something different.

Are you reading some tutorial for Old/Classic Pochmann BLD? If so, it might mean the conjugated Y-perm: F'-Y perm-F.

Just a wild guess.

You may see y in an algorithm, but please note that there is no y in "algorithm."
